Your internet bill, explained.
Fictional sample—not a customer result or provider quote. All plans, prices, fees, and terms below are invented to demonstrate the report format. They are not verified offers or promised savings.
Example scope: One household internet account. Customer wants to understand a higher bill while maintaining comparable service.
01 / What the bill shows
$70 service + $15 equipment rental = $85/month, before taxes. Current-plan cost is assumed unchanged for the next 12 months. No remaining equipment balance or cancellation charge is assumed.
02 / An option to investigate
A fictional comparable plan costs $65/month, including equipment, for 12 months; then $80/month. It has a $30 setup fee. Availability, speed, coverage, and reliability would need confirmation before any real recommendation.
03 / Your next three actions
- Confirm terms with your current provider.
Ask when your rate changed, whether the equipment fee is optional, and whether a suitable existing-customer plan is available. Get the complete price and duration in writing.
- Compare the complete cost before changing anything.
Verify the alternative’s availability, service needs, equipment, activation costs, promotion expiry, and cancellation terms. Keep your current plan if the tradeoffs outweigh the benefit.
- If you switch, verify the result.
Agree on installation timing before cancelling service, return any rented equipment with proof, and check the first bill. Record confirmed savings separately from the estimate.
